CLINKA (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an engineering marketplace that connects clients with verified civil and architectural engineers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website and services.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), role (client, engineer, or admin), profile photo, and optional Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
Platform activity: project listings, bids, messages and attachments, payment records processed through Paymob, reviews, notifications, and support requests. Engineers may also provide specialty, nationality, bio, portfolio items, and verification documents (such as college ID, certificate, or syndicate card) for credential review.
3. How we use your information
We use your data to create and manage your account, match clients with engineers, process bids and contracts, facilitate escrow payments, deliver in-platform messaging, verify engineer credentials, send service notifications, prevent abuse (including contact-info sharing in chat), and improve the platform.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Sharing and service providers
We share data only as needed to operate CLINKA: with payment processor Paymob for checkout and escrow transactions, with Cloudinary for secure file and image hosting, with email providers for verification and account emails, and with infrastructure providers that host our application and database.
Other users may see information you choose to make visible on the platform—for example, your public engineer profile, project details you post, bids you submit, and messages sent within a project conversation.
5. Data retention
We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as required to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us through the Help Center.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can update much of your profile information in Settings.

7. Cookies and authentication
We use HTTP-only cookies to keep you signed in securely. These cookies are required for account authentication and are not used for third-party advertising trackers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of CLINKA after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
